Twenty-Seven Wildcards catalogued for Tattersalls Cheltenham April Sale

A total of 69 point-to-pointers and horses in training have been catalogued for this Friday’s Cheltenham April Sale, following the addition of twenty-seven wildcard entries. The sale is scheduled to take place in the Tattersalls Cheltenham sale ring, with horses available for inspection in the Charles Turner and Irish Yards. 

The sale includes 27 winning and placed four-year-old point-to-pointers and 32 winning and placed five-year-old point-to-pointers. Also included are six winning and placed Bumper horses, an Irish Maiden Hurdle winner, and a winner over hurdles in France. 

No less than 28 of the stallions with horses catalogued have already sired Grade or Group 1 winners, including AUSTRALIA, BLACK SAM BELLAMY, BUCK’S BOUM, CAMACHO, CHAMPS ELYSEES, COASTAL PATH, COURT CAVE, CRILLON, DIAMOND BOY, DOYEN, FAME AND GLORY, FLEMENSFIRTH, GETAWAY, JET AWAY, JUKEBOX JURY, KALANISI, KONIG TURF, LEADING LIGHT, MAHLER, MALINAS, MARTALINE, NOTNOWCATO, PRESENTING, SHANTOU, SHOLOKHOV, SOLDIER OF FORTUNE, WALK IN THE PARK and WESTERNER. 

Amongst the 83 black-type winning Cheltenham April Sale graduates are Grade 1 winning hurdler BELFAST BANTER and Grade 2 winning chaser DOES HE KNOW, both of which were purchased for £38,000 and £30,000 respectively. The most recent star to emerge from the Cheltenham April Sale is the Listed winner AMERICAN MIKE, who ran out a gallant second in the Grade 1 Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, on his most recent start. 

The catalogue and race replays are available to view online with printed copies available at Cheltenham racecourse. Inspections for the sale will be open from 2.00 p.m. this Thursday April 21st and all day on Friday April 22nd, with the sale scheduled to commence at 1.00 p.m.
