Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales Return to the Home of Jump Racing
Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales are set to return to their famed location at Cheltenham Racecourse and will stage their first sale on Friday 12 November in conjunction with the three days of racing at The November Meeting. It will be the first sale held on a racecourse in the UK since the Cheltenham Festival Sale in 2020.
The eagerly awaited Cheltenham November Sale has long been established as the first major sale to buy top class autumn National Hunt prospects and is staged alongside the autumn festival of jumps racing. Part of the unique atmosphere which this sale enjoys is the attendance of many leading owners and a focus on buying their future stars.
Matthew Prior, Head of Sales at Tattersalls commented;
"Nine Cheltenham Festival winning graduates at this year's meeting endorses the Cheltenham Sales as the leading source of point to pointers to reach the highest echelons in the sport. Whilst the relocation of the Cheltenham Sales to Park Paddocks at Newmarket was well received and enabled Tattersalls to continue supporting the point-to-point industry, we now look forward to returning the Cheltenham Sales back to their natural home for the autumn season."
Simon Claisse, Jockey Club South West Head of Racing said;
"We are delighted to have the Tattersalls Sales return to Cheltenham during the November Meeting for the first time since March 2020. The sales are a vital part of our sport, and we have seen some very exciting prospects sold through the ring here over the years such as Envoi Allen, Monkfish and Shishkin to name just a few.
It is always a fantastic atmosphere in the Tattersalls Sales Arena as we search for the next generation of stars following what we hope will have been a brilliant day's racing."
