Catalogue Online for Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale
The final entries are now confirmed for the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale, due to be held after racing in the Cheltenham winners' enclosure this Thursday, March 14.
The 30 lots listed make up a superb and high-quality catalogue, all horses with potential to match the achievements of talented Festival Sale graduates, including this year’s Grade 1 Boodles Gold Cup hopefuls BRAVEMANSGAME and GERRI COLOMBE, as well as the three declared for the Grade 1 Weatherbys Champion Bumper – JALON D’OUDAIRIES, ROMEO COOLIO and QUEBECOIS.
Thursday’s final catalogue features:
- 21-winning and placed debut four-year-old point-to-pointers
- Six five-year-old-winning point-to-pointers
- One four-year-old Leopardstown INH Flat race winner
- The Grade 2 winner Harmonya Maker, who is being sold with an entry in Friday’s Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase (G2)
- Eight own and half-siblings to black-type winners and performers, including The Big Westerner, the impressive five-year-old point-to-point winner and a half-sister to Stay Away Fay, the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale graduate and current second favourite for the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase (G1)
It is set to be a busy racing week for Tattersalls Cheltenham sale graduates, who will be in action at highest level from the outset on Day 1 with the Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale’s Cheveley Park Stud-owned, Willie Mullins-trained and Harold Kirk-purchased TULLYHILL the current favourite for the opening Grade 1 Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, while THE GOFFER and CHIANTI CLASSICO both hold excellent chances in the Ultima Handicap Chase (G3).
Rachael Blackmore has selected to ride the Cheltenham Festival Sale graduate TELMESOMETHINGGIRL in the Grade 1 Close Brothers’ Mares’ Hurdle and the Stowaway mare will line up alongside the previous Festival Grade 2 winner LOVE ENVOI, who was sold by Tattersalls Cheltenham in 2021.;
The opening day has every chance of being rounded off successfully for Tattersalls Cheltenham courtesy of 2023’s Grade 1-winning hurdler APPLE AWAY, who runs for trainer Lucinda Russell and owner Old Gold Racing 14 in the Maureen Mullins National Hunt Challenge Chase (G3).
STAY AWAY FAY heads up Wednesday’s Tattersalls Cheltenham challenge, the son of Shantou currently second favourite for the Grade 1 Brown Advisory Novices' Chase.
The top three lots sold at last year’s Cheltenham Festival Sale, race favourite JALON D’OUDAIRIES, ROMEO COOLIO and QUEBECOIS, have all been declared for the concluding race on Day 2's card, the Weatherbys Champion Bumper (G1).
Skipping forward to Friday, the Grade 1 Boodles Gold Cup sees BRAVEMANSGAME and GERRI COLOMBE, as well as Tattersalls Cheltenham sale graduates SHISKIN, GENTLEMANSGAME and MONKFISH make up five of the 13 confirmed entries for the Grade 1 chase.

The sale horses are stabled in the RDA stable yard and will be available for viewing from 11am on Wednesday, March 13 and from 8.30am on Thursday, March 14.
Courtesy cars will be available for clients wishing to view the auction horses from the first race on Tuesday. The collection point will be between the North Gate Entrance and the Tattersalls Owners and Trainers Pavilion.
